The math behind our 90-day venture sprint
June 20, 2026
Every prototype inside the studio gets the same deal: 90 days, a small team, and a fixed budget to prove it’s worth continuing. No exceptions, no “just two more weeks.” The clock starts the day real users touch it, not the day the idea gets approved.
At the 90-day mark we look at three numbers, not gut feeling: how many people are still using it without being reminded to, whether anyone has paid for it unprompted, and how much it would cost to keep the lights on for another quarter. Two out of three in the right direction earns another sprint. Zero out of three means it’s archived, not deleted — we’ve resurrected killed ideas before, once the timing or team was right.
The point of the number isn’t to be clever about it — it’s to make the “should we keep going” conversation boring and factual instead of emotional. Ideas we’re personally attached to get exactly the same 90 days as the ones we’re lukewarm on.
